Doshi Levien --- sofisticated bohemian hybrid design --- Milan Furniture Fair 2011
This design studio first saw the light in 2000 in the busy and inspiring city of LONDON. Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien teamed up and created their hybrid and sophisticated-bohemian style. Materials, shapes and intriguing features from a variety of cultures, technologies (Jonathan Levien is an industrial designer) and craftsmanship are molded into their great and amazing objects and furniture design, but also expert advice to global brands. On their impressive cv you can already see the names of Intel, Swarovski, Nokia, Authentics, Moroso and Cappellini.
The combination of colors, materials and volumes makes their designs so fun to look at!

after a dark week with sunshine, stress, thunder and sunburn my ears got pierced one evening listening to a song by AUSTRA.
A classical schooled friend pointed out the greatness of Katie Stelmanis's voice and the almost opera-like clearness with baroque influences.
After some looking-up, I discovered, that this Toronto based trio brings us multi-layerd baroqbeatNsynth-tronica but without thumbling into the goth-trap. Think The Knife for their Darwin-Opera feat. Planning to Rock for the classical instruments.
The voice, the beats, the words, their openminded sexuality, the synths and the video's melt together and make AUSTRA a band floating in a darkish thrilling and zooming world ready to be discovered and a must-see in concert.
